iTunes 9.1 crashes when using Column Browser

This problem is a known issue in iTunes 9.1 that has already been fixed in iTunes 9.1.1.

To update iTunes, please click  -> Software Update, then click Install or Continue button.

Index-To-Pinky gesture doesn't work very well

Be sure to put all your 4 fingers on the Trackpad before releasing any one of them and you can perform this gesture very slowly.

Drawing with Index and Ring is awkward. Are there other options?

You may find the combination of Index and Ring a little bit awkward at first, but please spend a few hours to practice. We are sure it's not too hard for you and most people get used to it pretty quickly. However, jitouch also offers an option to draw with one finger which can be enabled by
1. Open the System Preferences -> Jitouch
2. Under the Characters tab, click the "Settings..." button
3. Check "Enable One-Finger Drawing" and click "Done"

The space icon does not disappear and/or keyboard freezes when changing spaces

This problem is a known issue in previous version of jitouch (2.02 and earlier). We have fixed this issue in jitouch 2.1 and most people report they no longer have the problem. Some may still encounter the problem. So please try the following clean installation.

1. Reinstall jitouch
  1. (This step is very important.) Quit the application by clicking the jitouch icon on the menu bar and choosing "Quit Jitouch." If you do not see the icon, please open the System Preferences -> Jitouch, make sure that you check "Show Icon in Menu Bar," then click the jitouch icon on the menu bar and choose "Quit Jitouch."
  2. Close the System Preferences, if it is open.
  3. Download and install the latest version (2.2) from the website.

2. Use default spaces action
Please make sure you use default actions "Change Spaces Up/Down/Left/Right" not your own keyboard shortcut.

If the problem still occurs, it can be due to a conflict with third-party software. The issue is likely to be caused by Event Taps, which is a programming device used to observe and alter the stream of low-level user input events in Mac OS X. jitouch as well as many other applications such as Cinch, TextExpander, BetterTouchTool, MagicPrefs, Typinator, Right Zoom, PopChar, VMware Fusion are using Event Taps. If the problem is due to any of those applications, using jitouch can make the problem occur or occur more frequently. The reason is that jitouch sends keystrokes to the OS and some keystrokes are captured by one of the applications which improperly alters the keystrokes and causes the unexpected behaviors in the OS.

People who don't use jitouch also reported this issue with other software, for example :
- http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2161076
- http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2162220

The developer of Cinch has created a tool to show what applications are using Event Taps: http://www.irradiatedsoftware.com/files/EventTaps.zip.

You can download and run the application. Then try quitting applications that use Event Taps, and see if the problem is fixed or occurs less frequently. jitouch may not cause the space-icon-not-disappearing problem but may trigger some other applications to cause the problem.

Keyboard freezing problem is also caused by Event Taps. If one of the applications that use Event Taps crashes or is unresponsive, any keyboard or mouse input will be locked up in the system event queue and will not be sent to the OS. Again, if you encounter the keyboard freezing problem, please try quitting applications that use Event Taps using this tool http://www.irradiatedsoftware.com/files/EventTaps.zip.

Will jitouch work on my Mac/MacBook?

For Magic Mouse : jitouch works with any Mac that supports Magic Mouse.
For Trackpad : If your MacBook is not a Unibody MacBook, MacBook Air, or early 2008 MacBook, chances are it will not work. However, the best way to determine is to try it.

I followed the payment instruction but did not receive a license. What should I do?

Once the transaction on PayPal is completed, you will be redirected to a thank you page.
It is very important that you click "Return to jitouch" button.
If you didn't see the button or close the window before you click, please email admin@jitouch.com to request a license key.

How to uninstall?

1. Click at jitouch's icon on the menu bar and quit
2. Open the System Preferences, right click (or ctrl+click) at jitouch's icon and click Remove
